What an exciting first week back we have had in Year 1 EC!

We have all been very busy settling into life in year 1 and I am so proud that everyone has made an exceptional effort to try their best.

This week we have completed lots of assessments so that we know our targets for the year and what areas we need to work together as a class on. We have also had lots of fun exploring our new classroom. We really love our Reading Garden and Doctors’ Surgery.

During this week we have also thought and discussed about the sorts of things that make a good learner. We created our own class learning line and talked about what each stage means and how you might be feeling at a particular point on the line.

We named our class bear ‘Tommy’, he goes home on a Friday with the class Star of the week, who this week is Joshua for being so enthusiastic and an independent learner. It was a very difficult decision to make this week as everyone has tried so hard with their assessments and had a very positive attitude towards their learning. As well as Miss Chamberlain being new this week to ACE we have also welcomed Darya to the class, everyone has made her feel very welcome and helped her get to know our school.

Our PE day next week is Thursday, please make sure you have your full PE kits in school! Please check this blog regularly for updates, news and lots of exciting work!

I hope that you all have a great weekend,

Miss Chamberlain
